Canada-based craft brewer Whitewater Brewing Company has launched its Legion beer in the western Canadian market for the first time.
The beer is brewed as part of a partnership with the Royal Canadian Legion, and 5% of all beer sales will go to help Legion programmes in various areas including support for mental health, getting veterans off the streets, and aiding with the transition to civilian life.
Legion lager will be available from Royal Canadian Legion locations throughout British Columbia from this weekend, and will be introduced to retailers, restaurants and bars in the near future.
Whitewater claims that the beer will soon be introduced to other markets in Canada and the brand wants to establish the beer nationwide in the coming years.
Chris Thompson, the founder of Whitewater Brewing Company said: “We’ve been anticipating the move into British Columbia for quite some time and we hope our crisp and easy-drinking lager will be successful here as well.
“We are proud of our creation and of the contribution it will make to helping our Veterans.”
“Many of our branches already sell beer in their lounges, and now they will have a great new addition for people to try,” adds Flannigan.
David Flannigan, Dominion President said: “This is one more important way for Canadians to support the work of The Royal Canadian Legion.
“Funds raised will help us with Veterans’ programming nationally and within provinces and territories.”
