These include Faux Gras designed by Chef Sean Paul Redding, made of toasted walnut lentil pate, Innocent’s Caribbean pots and Cavi-Art – a caviar-style product made from seaweed, and a dairy free cheese called enticingly Vegusto no moo melty.
“Our winners – from restaurant and sandwich chains to artisan food companies to fine chocolatiers – are proof that astute food retailers are taking note that more and more people are ditching meat, eggs and dairy products and moving towards a healthier and kinder diet,” said PETA’s Mimi Bekhechi. “The best thing that people can do for animals, the environment and their health is to go vegan.”
I’m not sure we are all in accord on that but it is exciting to see the entrepreneurship and original thinking in this area. Our congratulations to all of the winners.
Correction The Faux Gras was designed by Sean Paul Redding, not Regal Vegan, as previously stated.
