Coding specialist Linx Printing Technologies has unveiled a new ink that offers high quality adhesion to polyethylene (PE), most polypropylenes (PP) and non-contact food packaging.
The Linx Black PE Ink 1130 also offers equally strong adhesion to a range of other materials – including acrylic, aluminium, glass and polyethylenes – allowing manufacturers to use a single ink across all their packaging and coding applications. It negates the need to buy multiple inks for use on different surfaces.
The company said: “Linx Black PE Ink 1130 provides excellent print quality and is fast drying to deliver clear, readable codes in even the harshest of production environments. The ink can be specified with all new Linx 5900 and Linx 7900 printers incorporating Midi and Ultima heads”.
Ndidi Ihekwaba, product specialist for inks for Linx Printing Technologies, added: “PE and PP are traditionally challenging substrates to adhere to, due to their low surface energies. Linx Black PE Ink 1130 is able to overcome this challenge and creates excellent adhesion to these substrates, ensuring a quality code each time.”
