Danone has collaborated with Disney on the development of new yogurt products, themed around the Frozen and Star Wars movie franchises.
Its new strawberry-flavoured yogurt shake features a single-serve format with attached straw, which Danone said was “designed to capitalise on the growing trend for children’s yogurt drinks and on-the-go occasions”. The Paris-based company will also release a four-pack of 125g yogurt pots in strawberry and mixed berry varieties, derived from its smooth French Danone Veloute yogurt.
Danone claimed that the innovations would “add excitement to children’s lunch boxes” while retaining the nutritional benefits of its yogurts.
Danone brand manager Esme Roger said: “We’re really excited about our new Disney range, which combines all the health benefits of delicious Danone yogurts with much loved and exciting Disney-owned characters. The kids’ yogurt licensed sector is showing strong growth of 11% and we believe this launch will accelerate this trend even further.”
The yogurts’ launch will be accompanied by advertising across Disney Channels that will focus promotions on the back-to-school summer season.
