GEA will equip Danone’s new early life nutrition plant in the Netherlands with several production lines – including its evaporation and spray drying technologies.
Danone announced plans in December to invest €240m in the Nutricia facility in Cuijk, south of Nijmegen. The deal represented “a major order” for GEA, which said that the scope of supply had a value of around €50m.
The plant will start the production of their infant formulas towards the end of 2017.
Erik Olsen, the member of GEA’s executive board responsible for the solutions business area, said: “The new GEA lines will become the core technologies in Danone’s new production facility. The new plants are designed for continuous operation. They will also be highly energy-efficient, thus meeting Danone’s ambitious targets for sustainability.”
