Ensuring the freshness of produce is a constant concern for producers, retailers and brands. Fresh Produce is a $600 billion worldwide business that loses 30% of its product from farm to table. Current practises often involve visible inspection, which is inaccurate and inefficient.
A US based start-up called FreshSurety has developed a system that is able to accurately measure the freshness of produce and provide up to the minute carton-level quality and value information.
Jess Gay spoke with FreshSurety’s CEO Tom Schultz to find out more.
