The NWCA was represented by chairperson Ewa Hagstedt, Tomas Lindfors (Hartwall), Matti Helenius (Eden Springs Finland) and Kalevi Huskonen (Autobar).
The Finnish authority wish to set the limit for heterotrophic plate count to 22ºC for water. The delegation made a statement to the authority including the major points below.
An additional Finnish legislation/regulation with a limit on heterotrophic plate count could lead to an infringement of the Free Trade Agreement within the EU and EES.

Following a further meeting with Jari Keinänen, from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, and Evira, the authorities still plan to continue to put a limit on heterotrophic plate count. The NWCA is working hard to arrange a new meeting and involve the European Federation of Bottled Waters.
