After 25 successful years and more than 65 awards, Damafro is now one of the three largest fine cheese manufacturers in North America, and among the leading Camembert and Brie producers in Canada.
Damafro purchased the Tournevent cheese factory in 2005, making it the leading producer of goat’s milk cheese in Quebec at the time. The company employs 190 people at its 85,000 sq ft facility in Saint-Damase, making it one of the region’s largest employers.
“Our focus remains the same,” said Michel Bonnet, the company’s co-founder and president of operations. “To create innovative products that please North American consumers and maintain a balanced, yet aggressive growth pattern.”
