Irish food and ingredients firm Kerry Group has acquired one of China’s biggest food ingredients companies, Tianning Flavour & Fragrance, for an undisclosed sum.
Headquartered in Jurong, a Jiangsu province with sales branches across China, Tianning Flavours was founded in 2005 and produces a range of flavours and fragrances for some of China’s leading food and beverage groups with applications ranging from dairy to tea based drinks.
BDA Partners advised Kerry Group on this transaction, Mark Webster, partner and managing director of BDA said in a statement: “This transaction is a clear demonstration of BDA’s cross-border buyside advisory capability for sophisticated clients looking to further develop their presence in Asia via acquisition.”
Earlier this month Kerry’s chief innovation officer, Albert McQuaid spoke with FoodBev Media about the company’s new plant protein solution, ProDiem optimised for nutrition, taste and texture. You can view this video by clicking here.
