The initiative will enlist the help of the British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) and Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) along with the nation, to find the UK’s most charismatic landlords.
The three films from Let There Be Beer will be shot with a trio of well-known celebrities, who will be interviewed by a different pub landlord from across the UK. Two landlords have been recruited with the help of Camra and the BBPA, and the third will be sourced through nominations across Let There Be Beer social media. Let There Be Beer will ask for nominations from the nation on who is ‘the David Letterman of the pub world’.
Phase two of activity will see the shortlisted publicans’ video entries housed on the Let There Be Beer Facebook page, where members of the public will be asked to vote for their winner, who will then go on to interview one of the beer-loving celebrity candidates.
Nominations are being accepted until 29 November, with interviews due to be filmed during January 2014.
David Forde from Let There Be Beer said: “This campaign reminds people that so often, at the heart of great conversation is a beer. ‘Fancy a beer’ means so much more. It means time spent with friends and family catching up and enjoying a loved one’s company. The pub and its landlord is at the heart of every community and we want to give three landlords the chance to ask our celebrity guests the kind of questions that only a landlord would dare to ask.”
