Spanish winemaker Codorníu Raventos has launched CodorNew Frizz into the UK on-trade in time for the summer season.
Light in alcohol at 5.5% ABV, Frizz is available in two styles – a refreshing Albariño, with intense peach aromas and citrus notes, and Verdejo, with intense apple aromas and citrus notes. Best served chilled, they are the perfect choice for those seeking a light, refreshing style of sparkling wine, Codorníu claimed.
They will launch in various bar and pub chains across the UK this month.
Codorníu UK managing director Simon Bradbury said: “Demand for lighter wine styles has increased considerably over the past few years and consumers in the UK, particularly the younger generations, are looking for wines with fruitier taste profiles.
“Targeting the all important Millennial consumer, CodorNew Frizz provides a great introduction to the category for those who may not necessarily enjoy the more traditional styles of sparkling wine, but are seeking something a bit lighter and more refreshing.”
