The Good Deli Company has debuted its Italian range of artisan flour with the launch of seven speciality flours.
The collection includes four organic flours – Einkorn, Montana, Kamut and Kronos – a gluten-free flour and two speciality chickpea and Borlotti pulse flours.
The organic range hails from Molino Grassi in Parma, Italy, and has been handpicked by the Good Deli Company for its combination of both new and ancient grains and the ability to deliver nutritional value, quality, provenance and superior flavour at a cost effective price. The first in the range is an organic Einkorn flour, a high quality mixture of organic wholemeal Emmer and organic wheat flour type, the company said.
Next is an organic Kamut Khorasan wheat flour, an ancestor of durum wheat which is high in protein and minerals; plus an organic Kronos, a durum wheat semolina originated in America which has now been adapted for Italian agriculture.
All seven of the speciality flours originate in Italy and offer operators premium ingredients with outstanding provenance, the company said.
The Good Deli Company sales director Lara Bicknell said: “We have seen high demand from caterers for quality base ingredients, such as flour, as operators try to respond to consumer expectations and create high-quality artisan products.”
