Kellogg’s Morning Star Farms brand has released five new vegetarian heat-and-eat meal bowls.
The world-inspired flavours are easy to prepare and deliver bold flavours, Morning Star Farms said. They include an Italian sausage bake with spinach, courgette, vegetarian sausage pieces and cheese layered with béchamel and tomato-basil sauces; a chik’n pot pie with vegetarian chicken strips and a creamy wine and herb sauce; plus Japanese soba noodles, which are blended with vegetarian steak strips, edamame beans and bamboo shoots in a ‘zesty’ soy, ginger and garlic sauce.
The five new flavours join the existing line-up of Morning Star Farms veggie bowls, which was first introduced earlier in the year and includes varieties such as spicy black bean enchilada, Thai yellow curry, and mushroom and asparagus orzo.
Each of the new bowls – along with more than 30 other Morning Star Farms products, such as meatless burgers, breakfast sandwiches, and Meal Starters – include vegetable-based proteins to help consumers switch to a less meat-centric diet.
Morning Star Farms director of brand and innovation marketing Todd Smith said: “Our new protein-packed veggie bowls combine a blend of flavourful ingredients and seasoning with superior taste and texture. We know that more and more people are looking for convenient and nutritious meal options, including tasty alternatives to meat. That’s why we’re excited to debut our latest line-up of tasty, veggie-full products that are not just good for you, but that are also good for the planet.”
