Arla Foods has appointed Jan Toft Nørgaard as its new chairman, following former chairman Åke Hantoft’s decision to retire after seven years in the role.

Nørgaard will take over the position on 2 July 2018, and will focus on growing the company’s presence in the global dairy and strengthening the company’s portfolio of global brands.
Nørgaard has been a dairy farmer since 1982 and has been an elected representative in the cooperative since 1996.
He became a member of Arla Foods Board of Directors since 2000, and was appointed as vice-chairman of Arla Foods in 2011.
Commenting on the appointment, Jan Toft Nørgaard says: “I am honoured by the confidence the Board of Directors has shown me.
“I am humble about the task I take on as chairman and I look forward to working closely with the board and the management of the company on continuing the development of the Arla Foods.”
