JAB Holdings-owned Peet’s Coffee has released a new line of RTD iced espresso drinks for the US market.
Four flavours are available in the Peet’s True Iced Espresso range: Black and white, vanilla latte, caramel macchiato, and mocha.
Each flavour is made with dark roast single-origin Colombian espresso coffee, hormone-free milk and cane sugar.
Packaged in 8fl-oz cans, each flavour in the range contains between 100 and 130 calories and 10-17g of sugar.
Gretchen Koch, director of marketing and innovation, Coldcraft at Peet’s Coffee said: “Iced espressos in Peet’s coffee bars are incredibly popular, representing over 40% of our cold coffee sales.
“After the success of bottling our signature cold brew, we are excited to introduce a premium RTD iced espresso that can be enjoyed anywhere.
“It was not easy to craft a canned shelf-stable coffee that is worthy of Alfred Peet’s name.
“We focused on sourcing high-quality, clean ingredients and fine-tuning the production method to ensure a creamy coffee experience on par with the iced espresso beverages handcrafted by Peet’s baristas.
“By using better ingredients, our Peet’s True Iced Espresso has 25% fewer calories per ounce and 40% less sugar per ounce than the category leader, making it the perfect coffee for on the go.”
The full Peet’s True Iced Espresso range is now available from selected retailers in the US such as Kroger, Albertson’s and Safeway.
