Ingredients firm Kerry Group will make a “significant investment” to expand its breadcrumb manufacturing facility in Wittstock, Germany, according to a report from RTE.
The report claims that the investment will pay for the installation of a new crumb baking line, which will double the production capacity of the site to 48,000 tonnes of breadcrumbs a year.
To effectively support the expansion, Kerry will also increase staffing at the facility by 13%.
Kerry says that the expansion enables “faster and more efficient replenishment lead time for its customers in a demanding market.”
The report did not disclose the exact figure that Kerry will invest in the site.
Philip O’Connor, meat business president at Kerry Taste & Nutrition said: “Kerry’s investment in this key manufacturing site demonstrates our commitment to service customers with growing coatings needs.
“With our continuing efforts to expand our capabilities, combined with our 40 plus years of taste expertise, we are confident in our ability to meet the increasing demand for innovative coating solutions in the region.”
