New Zealand milk company Synlait has announced it has received Chinese approval for the registration of infant formula processed at its Auckland blending and canning facility.
With this factory registration granted from China’s General Administration of Customs, the company can now progress with brand registration processes.
Synlait said it has also secured registration from Chinese authorities for its advanced dairy liquid processing facility at its Dunsandel site in New Zealand.
The company is currently developing several options to target high-returning, fast-growing pasteurised and long-life dairy foods into China. It said the registration of the Dunsandel facility is important for the potential export of cream-based products to China.
“Our team has a strong track record at providing market access for customers and securing regulatory approvals for Synlait facilities,” said Synlait CEO Leon Clement.
“We are navigating complex regulatory environments internationally, and it is great to see this work recognised so Synlait can keep supporting its customers to grow.”
In October, Synlait secured a deal to acquire Dairyworks, the New Zealand-based producer of cheese, butter, milk powder and ice cream under brands such as Rolling Meadow, Deep South and Dairyworks.
