New York-based Once Again Nut Butter is introducing a new Sunflower Hemp edition to its line-up of sustainable butters.
Founded in 1976 by husband and wife, Once Again produces organic and natural nut and seed butters for retail and foodservice with a focus on ethical and sustainable practices.
Sunflower Hemp Butter delivers 5g of plant-protein per serving along with a ‘healthy dose’ of iron and potassium.
Described as lightly sweetened and creamy, the new product is said to be well paired with toast or fruit, mixed into oatmeal or yogurt, baked into cookies or eaten straight from the jar.
The butter is made with organically grown sunflower seeds which are then dry roasted for enhanced flavour and milled to a creamy texture.
According to Once Again, the organic hemp oil gives the butter a powerful boost of antioxidants, amino acids and Omega fatty acids.
“Hemp oil is shaking up the food industry as a new way to add functional nutrition to products, and we’re on board! This on-trend ingredient complements our organic sunflower seeds beautifully, both in taste and its phenomenal health benefits,” said Gael Orr, marketing-communications and PR manager at Once Again.
Free of preservatives, cholesterol and trans-fat, Sunflower Hemp Butter is suitable for gluten-free, vegan and kosher diets.
Released as part of the brand’s Honest in trade sustainability programme, the butter is certified organic and non-GMO project verified.
Earlier this year, the company rebranded its logo and packaging while reportedly staying true to the brand’s authenticity and passion for sustainability.
Once Again’s new Sunflower Hemp Butter will be available at local co-ops and natural food stores across the US this spring and can be purchased online for an SRP of $6.49 per 16oz jar.
