Accolade Wines has expanded its Echo Falls range with the introduction of Rosé Seltzers, aimed at those looking to moderate their alcohol consumption.
With an ABV of 4.5%, the seltzers are available in three flavours: blueberry & hibiscus, strawberry & pink pepper, and raspberry, lychee & rose.
Accolade’s latest Echo Falls offering features a ‘light and refreshing’ mix of rosé wine and sparkling water. Free from artificial fruit flavours, each 250ml can reportedly contains only 69kcal.
The launch aims to capitalise on the growth of the hard seltzer category and establish a share of the UK market for Echo Falls.
The ready-to-drink cans are said to offer a ‘convenient’ packaging format and are reportedly easy to recycle, catering to the sustainability conscious consumer.
Abigail Whithair, innovation commercialisation manager at Accolade Wines, said: “Blurring alcohol categories are becoming more popular and the trend for hard seltzers is here to stay.
“Combined with an increased demand for no/low alcohol products, we’re confident that our light Rosé Seltzers will prove popular with UK shoppers.
“This range aligns with our new ‘your friend in wine’ brand positioning, as we look to bring back younger shoppers (35 and under) to wine and navigate them through the portfolio, who we may have lost to other categories such as gin.
“We’re an important recruitment agent for the whole wine category and these seltzers, as well as our Botanicals collection (5.5% ABV) launched in May, provide a refreshing alternative to wine, especially for Gen Z consumers.”
Echo Falls Rosé Seltzers are rolling out, with an RRP of £2, in grocery, convenience and wholesale channels this month.
Earlier this year, Accolade released its Echo Falls Botanicals range, which aims to meet consumer demand for fruitier and sweeter wine styles with a lower alcohol content.
