The event, which features meetings with the Asia Middle East Bottled Water Association and the Japan Bottled Water Association, features a conference, workshop sessions and a trade fair.
WE chairman Alain Adler introduced the conference and thanked the sponsors, Nestlé Waters Direct and Angel Springs. He then handed over to master of ceremonies Michael Barnett who introduced Zenith International’s Iva Hatzold.
Iva presented Zenith’s latest findings on the watercooler industry both in Europe and Asia.
International Bottled Water Association Joseph K Doss then talked about the industry’s responsibility for consumer protection and sustainability.
SGS Institut Fresenius’ Andreas Wilken discuss the relevance of HPC/CFU in microbiological control of waters and food before Waterlogic International’s Chris Garner discussed challenges and opportunities for POU in hydration.
Karl-Heinz Land gave a lively presentation about Generation ‘Y’ before Ita Thaher and Umpol Tuntha-Obas from ABWA presented specific of the Asian industry.
Closing the conference, in a session entitled ‘How brand stories stick’, the keynote speaker Raf Stevens challenged delegates to consider the importance of an authentic and compelling story when developing marketing strategies.
