Wine and beer importer Morgenrot has launched “a young, fresh and floral” Spanish white wine into outlets of the bar chain All Bar One.
Nivei, which translates as ‘snow’, gets its name due to the location of the vineyards near Logroño in the northern Rioja region of the country, which sees low average temperatures and regular snowfall in winter. It is now available in All Bar One sites nationwide and its introduction will be supported by its promotion as ‘wine of the month’ for January.
An intense, crisp and dry blend, it is made from a base of tempranillo blanco and viura, and complemented by the verdejo, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, malvasia and maturana blanca varietals. Its producers claim that it is these “fresh, fruity and aromatic grapes that characterise the wine”.
Henry Boyes, wine buyer for bar operators Mitchells & Butlers, which owns the All Bar One brand, said: “Nivei is colourful, vibrant, unbelievably fresh and incredibly well made so we are confident it will be popular amongst our adventurous All Bar One consumer.”
John Critchley, commercial director for Morgenrot, added: “We are delighted to launch the Nivei wine in the All Bar One sites this month. Already interest has been extremely positive so we have high hopes for the label. With a real desire from consumers to experiment and try something new, the Nivei wine is exactly the type of interesting and engaging blend which we think will prosper in 2015.”
