California winemaker Apothic Wines has launched a new seasonal red wine in time for Valentine’s Day.
Apothic Crush is described as a decadent red “every bit as memorable and captivating as your first epic crush”. The limited edition wine will be available from retailers across the US between February and April for a price of $14.
Apothic winemaker Debbie Juergenson said: “This limited release red wine blends luscious red fruit flavours with notes of caramel and chocolate for a velvety, smooth mouthfeel. With our time-tested winemaking style of blending old world intrigue with modern sophistication, Apothic Crush is our most decadent red blend yet.”
The company is supporting the launch with a collaboration with lifestyle experts UrbanDaddy, who will help them create a digital ghostwriting tool that will allow users to draft a love letter based on their response to four simple questions.
Courtney O’Brien, director of marketing for Apothic Wines, said: “Inspired by the charm of the past and the tradition of the expressive love note, we wanted to resurrect the lost art of letter writing with this digital tool.”
