Metcalfe’s skinny are set to release a Popcorn Crisps range.
Gluten free and claiming to have up to 35% less fat than the average tortilla chip, Metcalfe’s skinny Popcorn Crisps are created through a flash-griddled process as opposed to deep-fat frying methods. The kernels, oil and salt are dropped into triangular-shaped moulds; with the right pressure, temperature and moisture they pop thus creating Popcorn Crisps.
There are three flavours in the range, kettle original which is said to have “subtle flavour notes of melted butter, black pepper and lemon”, sweet chilli and say cheese which contains rich cheddar cheese and paprika.
Each 30g bag contains 137 calories.
Metcalfe’s Food Company managing director Max Rees said: “We are enormously proud to be bringing Popcorn Crisps to our customers. The Metcalfe’s skinny brand has grown enormously in the past couple of years so this is an extremely exciting time for the brand to be extending our innovative product range.
“Our aim is to deliver the most innovative, best quality, light, corn-based snack products in the market.”
