An Australian brewer has crafted a new beer, timed to coincide with the release of the third installment in the Call of Duty: Black Ops video game franchise.
Black Hops Brewing has produced new Call of Duty: Black Hops III, an interpretation of the classic American pale ale, which launched this week ahead of the video game’s release later. The company has said that the beer, packaged in 330ml bottles with an ABV of 4.8%, is “crisp, light and refreshing with tantalising hop aromas of pine and citrus fruit”.
The brew is then fused with a specialty roasted wheat to impart a deep rich black colour without any of the harsh roast or bitter flavours that might be expected from a dark ale. The striking colour, Black Hops added, acted as a representation of the unique coming together of the brewery and the Black Ops series.
The limited-edition beer is being sold online for a price of AUD24.99 ($17.91) for six bottles, or AUD74.99 ($53.74) for 24 bottles.
Call of Duty: Black Ops III will be released worldwide on 6 November.
