Gourmet yogurt brand The Collective has partnered with Olympic triathletes Alistair and Jonny Brownlee to launch a new bramley apple and blackberry-flavoured limited edition, in aid of the brothers’ charitable foundation.
Available from major retailers, the new yogurt is described as “the UK’s first and only yogurt to feature two different and separately layered fruit conserves”. It includes Jonny’s blackberry compote made from sweet and juicy British blackberries, sitting on top of Alistair’s “Brownlee apple” compote, which features the “zing” of real British bramley apples subtly infused with cinnamon and nutmeg.
For every pot of the yogurt that The Collective sells, it will donate £0.05 to The Brownlee Foundation, which helps to inspire primary school children across the country to get active by offering free triathlons in partnership with schools, and by encouraging participation in sport from a young age.
The partnership is the most recent of The Collective’s charitable initiatives. Last year, the brand created a limited-edition rhubarb, vanilla and lemongrass yogurt with chef Anna Hansen, raising £19,000 for the humanitarian organisation Action Against Hunger.
The Collective co-founder Amelia Harvey said: “This is an extremely important launch for The Collective. The release of this limited edition will help the brand meet its dual goal of both supporting social causes close to the hearts of its customers and continuing to deliver innovation to the category.
“Through this partnership with the Brownlee brothers, The Collective will raise money to help inspire children to get active by offering free triathlons and launch a UK first: a new product that uses our signature double layering technique to produce the only yogurt featuring two different, separately layered fruit conserves, with apple on the top and blackberry on the bottom.”

Alistair and Jonny Brownlee added: “We are so excited to have created this delicious limited edition that features our favourite flavours – bramley apple and British blackberries. We are big fans of The Collective. Their yogurts pack a real punch and the fact that they are made with natural ingredients, which are full of live cultures, makes them an ideal snack or dessert.
“The Collective has the same vision as us: to encourage children in the UK to become more active and appreciate their surroundings. We are delighted that the sales of this yogurt will help to raise money for The Brownlee Foundation, funding sporting triathlon events that are designed to motivate children and families to embrace exercise in a fun and enjoyable way.”
In particular, The Collective will be raising money to help run five “foundation days” in Yorkshire in June 2016, where they will be supplying Suckies yogurt pouches to children who finish the swimming, cycling and running event.
The Brownlees’ double-layered yogurt is available in 450g tubs with a recommended retail price of £2 each.
