Cornish beer maker Skinner’s Brewery has installed a new bottling facility at its site in Truro, forming part of a major investment to enable it to increase both quality and volume across its core bottled range.
The new facilities will enable Skinner’s to meet increasing demand among consumers for its bottle range, and brings the company’s bottling capability in-house. The new bottling line offers an efficient and flexible way to meet the rising demands of the market and to expand distribution outside the South West, it said.
“Our loyal customers will be thrilled to know they can now buy our bottled beer range nationally,” said Skinner’s founder Steve Skinner. “We’re responding to growing demand for the product – we’re currently bottling more than 100% more than last year.”
The brand’s beers recently underwent a refresh, with the Betty Stogs Cornish bitter, Porthleven pale ale and Lushingtons pale ale all taking on the fresh new look.
Mike Pritchard, commercial director for Skinner’s Brewery, added: “Our new bottling plant will ensure Skinner’s is well-placed to roll out our expansion plans and in doing so create five new jobs within Cornwall – the new facility has already created new positions. As a community brewery the creation of new jobs, and supporting business growth sustainably, is something we care passionately about.”
