The acquisition will provide Tetra Pak with efficient and accurate mixing equipment that ensures a higher and more uniform product quality, and increases turnout capacity, particularly for complex ingredients used in the manufacture of high-quality foods such as soups, sauces, dressings and beverage products.
“Scanima mixing technology is considered one of the benchmarks for innovative mixing solutions worldwide, and strengthens our end-to-end processing solutions offering,” said Sam Strömerstén, president Tetra Pak Processing Systems. “When combined with Tetra Pak’s extensive product portfolio and global organisation, we will enable our customers everywhere to meet the increasing demands for formulated products.”
“For more than a decade, the Mixer Division of Scanima A/S has provided mixing solutions to customers worldwide,” said Holger Colding, MD, Scanima A/S. “Combining our equipment and mixing expertise with Tetra Pak’s extensive portfolio of processing solutions is a natural development that will provide further opportunities for Tetra Pak customers.”
According to the terms of the agreement between Tetra Pak and Scanima A/S, 58 employees will be transferred to the newly formed company Tetra Pak Scanima A/S. (The Scanima Freezer Division will continue to operate under the company name of Scanico A/S.)
