US Foods has acquired three distributors previously owned and operated by Toba: The Thompson Company, Braunger Foods and Variety Foods.
With more than $130 million in combined annual sales, the three companies serve restaurant, school, grocery and convenience store customers in seven US states.
The deal is the latest in a series of acquisitions by US Foods. This year it has purchased All American Foods, SRA Foods, FirstClass Foods and food distributor F. Christiana.
US Foods Midwest president Russell Scott hopes the latest deal will bring the company closer to its customers.
“We look forward to building on the expertise of the strong employee base at The Thompson Company, Braunger Foods and Variety Foods and welcoming them to US Foods,” he said.
US Foods will continue to operate all three locations and expects to welcome around 250 members of staff to the company.
The transaction is expected to close by late July. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Illinois, US Foods generates about $23 billion in annual revenue and employs nearly 25,000 people in 60 locations.
