Synergy's Sugarplum protein water
BY DARREN WOOD AT SUPPLYSIDE WEST, USA
It’s day two here at SupplySide West and it’s been interesting to meet some companies showcasing their latest innovative functional food and beverage solutions.
TIC Gums’ GuarNTUSA
Over at TIC Gums the company showcased its new GuarNT USA Flavor Free 5000 guar gum, a label-friendly ingredient derived from the guar plant almost exclusively grown in India and Pakistan.
The company states that formulators have been able to overcome the grassy, beany off-notes commonly associated with standard guar gum by using the GuarNT USA product.
With its clean flavour, the GuarNT USA can be used in a myriad of applications at usage levels which the company says ‘were previously not possible.’
With the range of products utilising this solution ranging from cookies, to ice cream and oatmeal, this formulation is also used in the company’s Ultrasmooth CL clean label stabiliser solution, which we’ll have a video interview about soon on foodbev.com.
Elsewhere, Synergy unveiled its Sugarplum protein water, launched following the introduction of Starbucks Unicorn Frappuccino, the company is reacting to the consumer desire which has awakened for more fanciful flavours. Synergy noticed this trend and launched this complex yet sweet and fruity combo flavour, which paired with 12g of isolate protein creates a flavour some protein water.
And finally, Agropur told me all about its chewable protein tablet, containing glycomacropeptide which plays a vital role in tooth remineralisation and dental plaque reduction.
We’ll have more from SupplySide West tomorrow.
