During the music and firework celebration, Primo will be hydrating festival-goers with free water in refillable bottles. In April, the town residents voted and subsequently banned the sale of single-serve bottled water – an ‘environmental stand’ that Primo has publicly supported.
Kelly Lockwood-Primus, Primo’s VP of marketing, said: “We choose not to sell single-use PET bottles for the very reasons the people of Concord chose to vote for the ban.
“Primo offers consumers a responsible way to drink great-tasting water and still protect the landfills and the rest of the planet from discarded single-use water bottles.”
Primo Water offers discounts for the return of its 3- and 5-gallon bottles, which it is claimed are used an average 40 times before being recycled. Primo also states that the majority of its water is bottled at locations within 100 miles of its point of sale, minimising its transportation carbon footprint.
