Radeberger Gruppe USA has introduced Schöfferhofer Pomegranate, a pomegranate-flavoured beer for the US market. The brand claims it is the world’s first hefeweizen pomegranate beer.
The drink is crafted from 50% hefeweizen beer and 50% pomegranate juice, and has an alcohol content of 2.5%. The beer will be available in six-packs of 318ml bottles.
Bottles of Schöfferhofer Pomegranate will be sold in the Pacific Northwest, including Oregon, Washington and Utah from January 2018.
Schöfferhofer Pomegranate was released following the introduction of Schöfferhofer Grapefruit, which made its US debut in 2014.
“We set out to meet the increasing consumer demand for more delicious, low alcohol options as evidenced by Schöfferhofer Grapefruit, and we’re excited about our latest innovation, Schöfferhofer Pomegranate,” said Armin Buehler, head of marketing at Radeberger Gruppe USA.
“The Pacific Northwest region is known for its adventurous culinary and lifestyle scene, and we’re excited to introduce this product to this area as a test market before rolling it out nationwide.”
