Additional Kliklok cartoners increase ice cream maker’s capacity

Manufacturers of packaging machinery Kliklok has sold additional automatic packaging lines to a North Yorkshire-based ice cream manufacturer.

R&R Ice Cream, which operates brands such as Fruit Split and Fab, has added to its portfolio of Kliklok equipment with the medium speed rotary (MSR) end-load cartoning machine. The three machines, with a combination of 12-inch and 15-inch pitch flight centres, have increased the manufacturer’s production capacity at its Northallerton factory, Kliklok claimed.

Standard features on the stainless steel MSR include a rotary carton feeder; large capacity, carton-powered hopper; and intelligent carton abort sensing feature that can help to avoid product damage and ensure minimum carton waste. The machines were installed to operate across 12 different carton types, benefitting from easy size change and pre-programmed menus for flexible production requirements.

A Kliklok spokesperson said: “Kliklok’s excellent relationship with R&R Ice Cream spans over 12 years, having installed several cartoning machines at their Crossgates and Northallerton plants packing ice [lollipops] and ice cream bars”.
