Alcoa and Novelis previously were partners in the joint venture which purchases recycled cans. Alcoa agreed in July to take full control of Evermore at the end of August.
Alcoa’s Evermore Recycling is now a part of Alcoa’s Global Packaging group and will continue to be based in Nashville (US).
Andrey Donets, president of Alcoa Global Packaging, said: “We are very pleased to have Alcoa’s Evermore Recycling as a wholly owned part of our business as they are known throughout the world for their strong and committed relationships across the recycling supply chain.
“We practically invented the concept of recycling aluminium and have been leaders in pioneering within the industry – we see our strong relationships growing even stronger as we move into this new chapter.”
