Amcor Rigid Plastics USA has purchased the manufacturing assets and intellectual property of Eco-Groupe, a privately held preform manufacturing operation with four manufacturing sites in the United States.
Amcor Rigid Plastics has also purchased a minority equity interest in EnKon, a business enterprise affiliate of Eco-Groupe. Eco-Groupe’s technology portfolio includes a modular molding system called Viper, which allows for multiple size preforms to be injected simultaneously, and Eco-Pod, a mobile manufacturing system.
Mike Schmitt, president of Amcor Rigid Plastics, said: “This acquisition will continue our growth strategy and commitment to the packaging industry. Eco-Groupe’s technologies will strengthen our innovation focus and expand our offerings to customers.”
