The Wolverhampton headquartered business launched the initiative to support its charitable partnership with Make-A-Wish – pledging to use funds directly from its income to make a cash donation to the charity for every bottle of water sold and every new water cooler rented.
The scheme has been well received by Angel Springs’ growing customer base right across the UK, with companies keen to support the water cooler suppliers’ ambition to closely align customer sales with its fundraising objectives for Make-A-Wish.
Adding further momentum to the initiative, Angel Springs also provided over 1000 bottles of water for several high-profile national events, including the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and the Great North Run.
Angel Springs’ staff have also got into the fundraising spirit, rolling-out a wider programme of fundraising initiatives in order to maximise annual donations and raise awareness of the exceptional work undertaken by the charity. More than 30 employees produced a Harlem Shake video that not only raised over £500 for Make-A-Wish, but also received around 5000 views on YouTube. Other activities have included fancy dress days and various running and cycling challenges.
Make-A-Wish grants magical wishes to children and young people aged 3 to 17 years old who are living with life-threatening conditions. Established in the UK in 1986, the charity has granted over 8,000 wishes to date, and is hoping to help over 1,000 seriously ill children and their families this year by raising £7m.
Commenting on the success of the customer loyalty scheme, in conjunction with Make-A-Wish, Angel Springs commercial director John Murphy said: “Our charitable partnership with Make-A-Wish is a long term commitment for Angel Springs, so we were keen to introduce an impactful customer loyalty scheme that would help to raise considerable funds and awareness for the charity from day one.
“The response and support we’ve received from our customers over the last year has been overwhelming – they’ve really bought into our proposition whereby simply being an Angel Springs customer has a beneficial impact on Make-A-Wish. Having achieved such a strong result within the first 12 months, we’re now confident of raising well over £100,000 within three years.”
