Barbecue lifestyle company Angus & Oink are introducing three batch beers to its product repertoire under the micro brand Guerrilla Brewing.
Angus & Oink already produce and sell hot sauces, rubs and a range of sausages. Now, the company has partnered with Glasgow-based Drygate Brewing to initially produce 700 of each beer: cocoa chipotle cartel – an oatmeal porter with chocolaty aroma and hint of chipotle chilli, rio passion session – a refreshing IPA with a sensuous passion fruit finish, and tomahawk red Indian pale ale – made with rye and tomahawk hops to give a deep flavour with a bourbon hit.
Angus & Oink has unveiled the beers as part of an on-going strategy to pair foods with beer, while having the brand’s sauces working alongside perfectly.
Angus & Oink co-owner Scott Fraser said: “The decision to launch Guerrilla Brewing is a natural progression for us. We wanted to work with innovative people who still thrive on producing small batch beer. We’re experimenting with beer and flavour combinations that emphasise food and regional cuisine around BBQ, street food and great produce.
“Meeting Drygate and working with their brewing team on the studio kit has allowed us to test the water and develop our first three beers quickly, with a bunch of people we have developed a great relationship with.
“We’ve coined the phrase Guerrilla Brewing as we don’t brew ourselves; we’re small and lightweight as a company, able to move quickly and outside the rules. We’re able to brew with other beer producers and hope to develop our range with Drygate and other craft brewers in the future.”
Each beer from Angus & Oink will have a recommended retail price of £2.50.
