New brand Arduenna is bringing real bear salami to the British market.
The product is seasoned with juniper berries, paprika, nutmeg and garlic will be part of Arduenna’s strategy to showcase a range of Transylvanian cuisine.
The start-up also looks to unleash a range of artisan jams, marmalades, cheeses, cordials and charcuterie including flavours such as Transylvanian pepper sausage, Arduenna air-dried Ham and wild boar ham.
The name of the brand is the Celtic name for Transylvania meaning high, forested mountains.
Dr Villo Lelkes of Arduenna’s said: “We’re really looking forward to launching Arduenna at the UK’s leading showcase of fine food and drink.
“Transylvania is one of the last untouched wildernesses of Europe and we want to keep alive their ancient crafts, production methods, tradition and local knowledge.
“Our bear salami is a real speciality and attracting a lot of interest. It is made by a family business which manages their own wildlife park as a concession from the state and tastes absolutely delicious.
“Ethically sourced, it is a real Transylvanian specialty and best served sliced on a charcuterie board and eaten either on its own or with pickles.”
