Compressor manufacturer Atlas Copco will showcase a new series of efficient, intelligent vacuum pumps at a packaging show next month.
The new GHS VSD+ range features a variable speed drive and innovative motor design “that combine to produce a leap forward in efficiency that dramatically reduces lifestyle costs, the Stockholm-based manufacturer said. It also claimed that the vacuum pumps were designed “to deliver peak performance at common operating pressures in industrial applications”.
The company will also exhibit its secure and cost-effective NGP series of nitrogen generators at Pro2Pac in March.
An Atlas Copco spokesperson said: “The NGP generator’s working principle is based on pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology, which entails carbon molecular sieves that separate oxygen from nitrogen. The NGP series is therefore ideally suited to a wide range of applications including food and beverage storage and packaging.”
The company’s other innovations include the GA VSD+ oil-injected screw compressor with variable speed drive, described as “the most important one since the invention of variable speed drive technology by Atlas Copco 20 years ago”. It leads to 50% energy savings that has helped its consumers reducing their energy costs, it added.
