One of the first bars of its type outside of London, Beerd offers something entirely different to discerning beer drinkers. It has an extensive range of world beers from artisan and independent breweries.
Robin Couling, Bath Ales retail director said: “We love great beer, both our own and the best from around the world. We expect Beerd to become a vibrant, exciting venue that gives drinkers something different. We believe beer enthusiasts will embrace this new concept and enjoy what Beerd has to offer.”
Beerd will not only provide the best of the West, but also craft-brewed beers from the US and elsewhere, available in keg, cask or bottle. On tap is a choice of nine guest keg beers, dispensed ‘US style’ from taps fitted to a bespoke back bar fitting, inspired by a Manhattan water tower; while keg beers include Old Scratch from the Flying Dog brewery in the US and Brugse Zot from the Belgian De Halve Maan brewery.
Drinkers can enjoy a pint, half and even the new one-third and two-third pint measures of beer served by knowledgeable staff wearing quirky Beerd T-Shirts. Hungry patrons can tuck in to freshly-made Neopolitan-style pizzas prepared on the premises in a stone hearth pizza oven and bar snacks such as crispy pig skins are on offer.
The décor, a mix of old and new, features bespoke retro beermat wallpaper and exposed brick-work for a decidedly US feel, while colourful mis-matched chairs and tables offer the perfect pit stop to those not wanting to stand at the bar. The design of Beerd is a collaboration between Simple Simon Design and Bath Ales.
Beerd is situated in a vibrant part of the city at the top of St Michael’s Hill on the former premises of the Rustic Vine.
