The delicious and innovative range of Boozy Infusion after dinner liqueurs wowed the judging panel with the Jamaican Ginger Cake infusion product named Best Drink 2011/2012, with judges describing the tipples aroma as a ‘knock out’.
The drink was also named as the Consumers’ Choice Award, which was a brand new addition to the event, after consumers and judges said they loved the ‘clean flavour and versatility’ of the product.
The event was spearheaded by deliciouslyorkshire, which champions local food and drink retailers, suppliers and producers and the ceremony celebrates the exceptional achievements of local businesses.
Andy Gardiner, who developed the drinks range at his restaurant Beatson House located in the village of Cawthorne in South Yorkshire, said: “I was delighted just to be shortlisted, especially alongside some of the very best producers in the country, so when the panel of experts chose Jamaican Ginger Cake Infusion as the winner I was absolutely thrilled. To then be announced as the top choice by the general public was simply icing on the cake.”
Chair of deliciouslyorkshire, Cath Clelland, said: “Year on year the quality of entrants has been exemplary and reinforces Yorkshire’s position as a leading force in the UK’s food and drink sector.”
More than 20 companies collected awards as over 400 people from the region’s food and drink sector attended the event. The awards were presented by BBC Radio 2’s Nigel Barden and Nick Stafford, non executive director of deliciouslyorkshire.
