The site will bring together three existing Rexroth locations and a Bosch Thermotechnology training centre.
The base will consist of a 30,450ft workshop, 12,450ft of offices and 9,300ft of Bosch TT training space to create a facility of 3.6 acres. A further 7,500ft has been secured for the future expansion of the workshop area. With construction now fully underway, the facility is expected to be completed by the end of 2012.
Paul Cooke, MD of Bosch Rexroth in the UK, said: “Bosch Rexroth’s acquisition of Wakefield based Hagglunds Drives in 2011 not only strengthened the company’s position in a number of markets but provided excellent growth prospects.
“Breaking ground on what will be a fantastic facility demonstrates that this opportunity is now becoming a reality. We’re looking forward to seeing the launch of the site at the end of the year and assessing its positive impact on the business and the service provided to customers.”
