TNT Energy Drink branding will feature on the airbox and rear wing end plate of the Brawn GP cars with Itaipava branding on the nose, sidepods and rear wing plus the helmets of the team’s drivers Rubens Barrichello and Jenson Button.
Brawn GP Team Principal Ross Brawn said: “We are delighted to have extended our partnership with Cervejaria Petrópolis to include their exciting new TNT Energy Drink brand. The Brazilian Grand Prix is always a fantastic occasion, and with the championships set to be decided over the final two races, Interlagos will be hosting a very exciting weekend. We are proud to be associated with a prestigious Brazilian company in Cervejaria Petrópolis for their home Grand Prix.”
Douglas Costa, corporate marketing manager at Cervejaria Petrópolis commented: “The opportunity to promote our newly launched TNT Energy Drink brand on the cars of Brawn GP, the current World Championship leaders, during the Brazilian Grand Prix weekend is extremely exciting for Cervejaria Petrópolis. TNT Energy Drink will appeal to both sportspeople and sports spectators throughout Brazil and Formula One is the perfect medium to showcase our new product to a wide audience.”
Jenson Button’s helmet design will certainly be busy as the championship leader has a personal sponsorship agreement with energy drink brand Monster for the remainder of 2009.
The mix of beer and energy drinks is nothing new in Formula One. At the last Grand Prix in Japan, Red Bull Racing announced that Thailand’s Singha Beer sponsor had been upgraded to ‘Race Partner’.
