Brazilian dairy group Quatá Alimentos has installed six more SIG Combibloc filling machines at its facility in Minas Gerais state, significantly expanding the company’s production capacity.
The installation brings the total number of filling machines at Quatá Alimentos’ three sites up to nine, following the addition of six SIG Combibloc systems during 2014 and the beginning of January 2015. The units are used to fill CombiblocStandard and CombiblocSmall carton packs with UHT full cream milk, skimmed and semi-skimmed milk, chocolate milk, cream, and sweet condensed milk.
The move means that “Quatá is optimally prepared for the demands of the sizeable Brazilian market”, ahead of expected year-on-year growth in the long-life food sector of around 7% between 2015 and 2019.
Quatá Alimentos managing director José Henrique Coutinho said” “For the modernisation of our factory in Campo Belo, we chose filling technology from SIG Combibloc, as this flexible technology met all our requirements. The filling machines perform very well and have low waste rates – using them, we’ve significantly improved our productivity.”
