An award-winning bitter has adopted a limited edition pump clip to celebrate the success of its local soccer team.
Good Old Boy – from the West Berkshire Brewery – has taken on the new design, which features Reading FC’s club badge and shirt colours. The beer is the official beer of the UK-based football club, and the new pump clip has been issued to celebrate the team’s success in the FA Cup.
Reading beat Bradford City 3-0 in the quarter finals and are looking forward to a semi-final fixture against premier league side Arsenal next month. Reading has not performed this well in the competition in more than 85 years.
West Berkshire Brewery marketing director Vicky Mills said: “We wanted to say congratulations to Reading FC and thought that this would be a fitting tribute. It’s an extremely exciting time for the royals, and we hope that a pint of Good Old Boy will help them get all the way to the final!”
Reading FC commercial director Adam Benson added: “We are delighted to join forces with West Berkshire Brewery as they honour our FA Cup semi-final with a celebratory beer and help us to mark such a historic occasion for the royals.”
