Budge Brands – the owner of Premier Estates wine, House of Premier vodka and World Traveller Wines – is to open a new 73,000ft distribution centre in the UK, after securing £1m’s worth of finance.
The facility in Birmingham is the result of “a significant increase in demand” from clients such as convenience store chains Costcutter and Nisa, and brewer Marstons, Budge Brands said. It also follows a 7% increase in the firm’s turnover and a 67% growth in net profit in the last financial year, as the company continues to grow by importing European products.
Budge Brands managing director Budge Dhariwal said: “The demand for Premier Estates wine has increased enormously over the past 18 months and we have purchased these new premises in Birmingham to ensure that we can cater for demand moving forward for all our brands and products.”
The investment has been made possibly by funding from banking group Santander’s corporate and commercial division.
Dhariwal continued: “The support from Santander Corporate & Commercial has been nothing short of exceptional, and I look forward to working with the team at the bank to help take this business to even greater heights of success.”
