Carlsberg India has opened a new 27-acre brewery in Karnataka, India, which will be capable of producing 80 million litres of beer annually.
Carlsberg and Tuborg beers are already sold in the state of Karnataka, but the brewery represents the brand’s first production facility in the state.
The new facility, located in the city of Mysuru, will be the brand’s eighth brewery in the country, though Carlsberg also has four additional contract manufacturing agreements in the country.
Carlsberg has stated the new facility represents the first step in a business strategy which will accelerate growth in the south-west of the country.
The Mysuru facility will produce all beers included in Carlsberg’s product portfolio in India, including Carlsberg Classic, Tuborg, Carlsberg Elephant, Tuborg Strong and Tuborg Classic with Scotch Malts.
