Dairy Crest’s cheese brand Cathedral City has extended its range of miniature snacking cheeses with the launch of new mild and mature lighter varieties.
Packaged in nets with attached labels, Cathedral City Minis features six 20g pieces of Cathedral City cheese, designed specifically for lunchboxes and various other snacking occasions. The new variants have recently been made available in outlets of supermarket chain Asda, retailing for £1 per pack.
It is hoped that new Cathedral City Minis mild and mature lighter will introduce greater variety to the adult cheese snacking category, which has experienced segment growth of more than 8% during the last year. Cathedral City’s existing Minis brand has a current worth of £2.6m, according to an estimate provided by Dairy Crest.
Cathedral City marketing manager Elaine McCague said: “We are absolutely delighted to be launching our popular Cathedral City mild and Cathedral City mature lighter products into the Minis snacking range. Both Minis mild and Minis mature lighter are high in protein and are a source of calcium, making them a nutritious weekly staple for lunchboxes and convenient snacking.”
