Coca-Cola Chile and brand bottlers in the country have bought Chilean company Comercializadora Novaverde for $78.9 million.
Embotelladora Andina, Embonor and Coca-Cola Chile agreed to buy Novaverde from Inversiones Siemel, which is owned by Angelini.
Novaverde processes and sells fruit, ice cream and vegetables, mainly under its Guallarauco brand.
The transaction will be made through Coca-Cola del Valle New Ventures, a company created by the bottling companies in 2016. Coca-Cola Chile owns 50% of the business, Embotelladora Andina owns 35% and Embonor the remaining 15%.
Angelini bought 67% of Novaverde in 2014 in a deal worth around $26.4 million.
Coca-Cola said that Guallarauco’s product line, which also consists of conserves, marmalades and juice, will complement its portfolio of products in Chile.
