The new two-litre form of Coca-Cola’s famous package was preferred over the straight-wall two-litre bottle in consumer tests, being easier to hold and easier to pour.
All Coca-Cola trademark brands will be available in the new contour package, including:
“Along with Coca-Cola’s one-of-a-kind real cola taste, the iconic shape of the contour bottle is what people love most about the brand,” said Hendrik Steckhan, president and GM, Sparkling Beverages, CCNA. “We want to offer our brands to consumers in a special way that fits their needs for all contemporary beverage occasions. When you enjoy your family meal together, sharing an ice-cold Coke from a contour bottle is just ‘the real thing’.”
“Consumers love this package innovation, and we feel that it will directly benefit our customers by creating additional interest and demand among their shoppers for our two-litrer portfolio of brands,” said Francis X McGorry, president and CEO, Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Company. “I’m particularly proud of the leadership that the launch team from Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Company and CCNA has demonstrated, as we worked together to bring this innovative opportunity to our customers and consumers.”
The contour bottle is one of the few packages to ever receive a trademark from the US Patent and Trademark Office.
