Unilever has launched a £1m multimedia marketing campaign to support the introduction of its Colman’s meal kits, which launched in January.
The campaign began this week with a new television advertisement, which will air until the end of May. It follows “a busy working woman” as she prepares a quick and convenient evening meal for her new boyfriend and his young daughter. “This risotto says, ‘don’t worry; I’m not trying to be your mum,’” it says.
The advertisement places the brand at the centre of contemporary British life and builds upon recent Colman’s campaigns – such as the latest advertisement for the brand’s mustard.
With a recommended retail price of £2.49, Colman’s new meal kits are available in chicken risotto, chicken tagine and chicken curry varieties.
Earlier this month, Unilever unveiled a humorous new television advertising campaign for its Hellmann’s brand of mayonnaise, which saw the brand utilise consumer feedback to ask whether Hellmann’s was “the greatest thing ever created”.
